Riyadh MoU is launching a Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) based on Safety of Navigation, SOLAS Chapter V. The campaign period will be commenced from 1st October 2015 and it will be held for 3 months, ending on 31st December 2015.
Black Sea MoU CIC on STCW Hours of Rest
From 1st September 2014 to 30th November 2014, the BS MOU carried out a Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on STCW Hours of Rest throughout the region. This campaign involved all member States of the BS MOU and was conducted in conjunction with the Tokyo MOU and Paris MOU. The Paris MOU Guidelines and Questionnaire were utilized.
Tokyo MoU CIC Preliminary Results on Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery
Defects related to propulsion and auxiliary machinery installations have traditionally been one of the top six categories of deficiencies recorded during port State control (PSC) inspections in previous years. An average of 7% of the total number of the deficiencies identified within the Tokyo MOU region are related to machinery installations. For the purpose of verifying compliance with the requirements of SOLAS Convention Chapter II-1, member Authorities of the Tokyo MOU undertook a Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery from 1 September to 30 November 2013.

Paris MoU Prelimenary Findings of CIC on Fire Safety Systems
Fire safety on board ships is still serious concern. Recent events have demonstrated that a fire on board a ship can be potentially devastating and can seriously affect the safety of those on board. Preliminary results from the Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Fire Safety Systems, carried out between 1 September 2012 and 30 November 2012 in the Paris MoU region show important trends on the current situation onboard merchant vessels.
Viña del Mar CIC on Fire Figthing Systems
The South American Port State Control association, Viña del mar, are following the lead set by the Tokyo and Paris MOUs and will carry out a new Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) between the Sept 1st and Nov 30th, 2012 on foreign merchant vessels calling the region during the aforementioned period, with emphasis on the safety of fire fighting system (FSS), for the purpose of ensuring compliance with SOLAS – Chapter II/2.

Paris MoU Structural Safety and Load Lines CIC Report 2011
The CIC was held between September and November 2011 and the report was approved by the 45th meeting of the Port State Control Committee in May 2012. The results of the CIC will also be submitted to the next meeting of the IMO Sub-Committee on Flag State Implementation.
In 4386 inspections carried out by the Paris MoU from the 1st of September to the 30th of November of 2011 on 4250 individual ships, a CIC questionnaire was recorded. 963 inspections (22% of the total number of CIC inspections) resulted in deficiencies related to the topic of the campaign. A total of 150 detentions (3,4%) were recorded during the CIC, of which 42 (1,0%) were due to deficiencies directly related to the CIC topic.
PSC Concentrated Inspection Campaigns 2012
Each year the major PSC regions carry out a Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on an agreed topic. When boarding a ship, the PSC Officer will check certain on-board equipment or documentation besides carrying out the general routine PSC inspection.
Each CIC lasts for three months in all the region’s countries commencing from 1 September 2012 and ending on 30 November 2012.
