Monthly PSC Report For December 2012

The following tables summarize some findings from the PSC inspections conducted in the main PSC MoU areas (Black Sea MoU, Mediterranean MoU, Indian Ocean MoU, Paris MoU and Tokyo MoU) during last month. Data have been also gathered from various Coast Guard agencies and are presented in each month’s report. Data from other PSC MoUs (Vina del Mar, Abuja MoU, Riyadh MoU) could not be extracted at the time this report has been issued and therefore were not included.

Thirteen Detained Ships by UK PSC in October 2012

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) announced last week that thirteen foreign flagged ships were under detention in UK ports during October 2012 after failing Port State Control (PSC) inspection. Latest monthly figures show that there were six new detentions of foreign flagged vessels in UK ports during October 2012 and seven vessels remained under detention from previous months. Only four vessels remained under detention at the end of October. The overall rate of detentions compared with inspections carried out over the last twelve months was 3.4% this is slightly up from Septembers twelve month rate.

NKK Class Annual Report on PSC for 2012

This year’s NKK annual Port State Control (PSC) report summarizes deficiencies identified by PSC inspections carried out in various countries around the world. Last year due to several new conventions or amendments such as the ISPS Code, the Bulk Carrier Safety initiative, and air pollution prevention, etc. have come into force, the extent of PSC inspections has been further increased.

Seven Detained Ships by UK PSC in August 2012

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) announced today that seven foreign flagged ships were under detention in UK ports during August 2012 after failing Port State Control (PSC) inspection. Latest monthly figures show that there was one new detention of foreign flagged ships in UK ports during August 2012 and six vessels remained under detention from previous months.
