Monthly PSC Report For September 2012

The following information have been gathered mainly from PSC MoUs sites and may serve only as reference for the inspections being carried out each month by each MoU. The consistency of the information may differ between MoU since there are slight differences on the way each organization presents the inspection info. NKK Noted Detainable Deficiencies

This month the summary of detainable deficiencies noted in PSC inspection reports of NK-SMC ships presents the following findings:

  1. Emergency Fire Pump and its pipes (5 cases): Emergency fire pump defective, can not establish the working pressure, overheated, Suction pipe of emergency fire pump penetrated in machinery space not protected with substantial steel case.
  2. Fire drills (5 cases): Fire drill performance not satisfactory, crew not familiar with their duty, vent/fire dampers kept open, Crew were not familiar with essential procedure on fire drill.
  3. Fire-dampers (3 cases): Fire damper heavily corroded and holed, Funnel fire damper not properly closed, No.3 and No.4 engine room vent. damper failed to close by pneumatic and manual operation.
