The information is provided by OOW and while every effort is being made to keep the information up to date and correct, OOW makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability with respect to the website or the information, products, services, or related graphics contained on the website for any purpose. Any reliance you place on such information is therefore strictly at your own risk.

The views and opinions expressed in articles, content or material published in the OOW, from an author other than a member of the OOW Team, are those of the respective author and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Officer of the Watch or the member of the OOW Team.

Reproduction of articles published by members of the OOW Team, within the OOW website, is allowed as long as full attribute to the Author’s name is given, accompanied with a link to the OOW website. This policy applies to both online and means of print reproduction.

For articles, content or material whose author is a person/organization other than the OOW Team, authorization to use or reproduce such content should be obtained only from the creator of the respective content.

PRIVACY POLICY

OOW collects information from users when they register on the OOW website, subscribe to the OOW mail newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form. OOW will never share, sell, or rent individual personal information to/with anyone unless ordered by a court of law. Information submitted to OOW is only available to personnel managing this information for the purpose of contacting you regarding your registration or a request for information made by you.

Comments are welcomed and encouraged on OOW website. Including a link to relevant content is permitted, but comments should be relevant to the post topic. The OOW website reserves the right to edit or delete any comments submitted to this website without notice. On the following instances comments will be edited or deleted:

  • Comments deemed to be spam or questionable spam. 
  • Comments including profanity.
  • Comments containing language or concepts that could be deemed offensive.
  • Comments that attack a person individually.

EDITORIAL POLICY

Any material published or submitted for publication in the Officer of the Watch should comply with the following criteria:

  • Should represent genuine content
  • Provides knowledge, analysis or instructions on a specific subject
  • Should be related to either the maritime industry or the offshore industry
  • If the content represents a geopolitical or financial analysis then it should be related to maritime or offshore industry or industries closely connected with them (e.g. oil and gas)
  • May be a company press release or relevant material as long as it does not contain general references to the company only, the content should be of practical use to the reader
  • Appropriate attribution should be given to various sources or other copyrighted material mentioned/used within a post/article

Moreover, as a general rule, material submitted for publication in OOW should cover topics of interest related to the maritime and offshore industry. Such material should be in compliance with above mentioned criteria and should also be consistent with the purpose of the Officer of the Watch, which is to promote knowledge and information among people interested or engaged in the maritime and offshore industry in a beneficial, interesting and genuine way.

All submissions will be reviewed by the OOW Team for factual and grammatical accuracy, and errors/omissions will be corrected before posting. Officer of the Watch reserves the right to reject submissions that are not consonant with the goals and purposes of the Officer of the Watch or are offensive or contain non-constructive criticism.
